Sounds like someone is eager to get amongst the winners tonight. Hopefully we can point you in the right direction

Once again im going to go with Srichy ( -154 @Pinny )to win, and beat another Argintinean clay courter in the process. He is 3-0 against Acasuso and playing some very good tennis lately. He is far more comfortable on this surface than Acasuso and should be a little too good.

To even things up I will select an Argentinean, just to show that I have nothing against them. I like David Nalbandian ( -200 @Pinny ) against Wawrinka. Nalbandian is all class, and one of the few all court players on the tour. He is 2-1 against Wawa and is 25-10 on carpet. He has a lot to play for in this match, as if he wins he is all but guaranteed a spot in the end of season event in Shanghai.

An exotic play tonight might be to bet against Gonzalez to win in straight sets against Del Potro,or if you can find it, the OVER in total games, Del Potro + games in the handicap. Gonzalez has played a lot of tennis lately and has had treatment on his back and ankle in his last two tournaments. This will be Gonzalez 12th match since Oct 9, and he is also playing next week. This week Gonzo has played 6 sets in 2 matches, and 5 of them have gone to a tie-breaker. To me, it seems like he might be happy to hold his serve without putting too much pressure on his opponents service game, and preserve his body/energy. Del Potro has a huge serve and will be tough to break on carpet, so if you can find a book betting total games then the OVER or even Del Potro with + games.

So for me, its Srichy and Nalbandian to win, and look to favour Del Potro in any exotics you can find. Good luck.

tough card today guys. Who you like madcapper?

syd, thks for sharing. Paradorn will have his hands full, cause Acasuso is no regular clay courter. He can play on hardcourt, has a big serve, this one could be tight, just as was their thriller that went 5-sets at Flushing.

1 play so far for me. N Almagro (ESP) +3.5 games over A Clement (FRA). Tough to bet against Clement, as statistically he does have an advantage when playing on home soil. BUT, he's going to have to hit a lot of balls today as Almagro is a very good retriever, strong baseline player. Of course, Nicolas is not accomplised on this surface. Having said that, he has been very competitive post-US Open in the indoor season. His 2 loses have both been to quality and has covered this games line in both- to Fish at Madrid 6-2,2-6,6-4 and to Moya, also in 3, at Vienna 3-6,6-3,7-6. He enters the qtrs having beaten Marach in 3 and a quality win over Mayer in straights not having dropped serve. Although not considered a 'big server', Nicolas serves very well--statistically he holds serve 83% of the time (incredibly high for a player who plays most of his matches on clay), this compared to Clement at 77%. The 21 yr old Spaniard has had a break out year, not surprising given his game--fantastic grounstrokes, equally as dangerous from the backhand ( a la Gasquet). His 2005 campagin was littered with immaturity on the court, allowing his hot temper to get the best of him, masking what is a massive talent.......Clement's two wins so far at Lyon have both gone the distance: Vs Baggy (a good win) then yesterday near debacle Vs Llodra, 7-6 in the 3rd. He has lost serve 6 times in two matches.

For me...

Starace +4 -120 (starace has surprised me)
Max +3 -160 (dont see him losing on serve)
Ginperi -134 (on fire)
Giquel +2 1/2 -110 (Playing well at home)
Gasquet +104 (I think hes better than Soderling and hes home)
Srich -162 (lot of juice. but he'll win)

damn bro, were on the same page. I was looking at these two as well, but havne't pulled the trigger. Starace has surprised me as well--obviously playing well here and getting 4 games?? wtf??

Max is a BEAST ON CARPET, he certainly can win outright here. I agree, very precious break point chances for either player today.

i was thinking (haven't play it)-- Wawrinka to win 2-1 (+400) AND Nalbandian to win 2-1 (+308). David is a fuckin nut who makes his life miserable on the court. He is just not beating anybody of quality with ease of late-- 5 of his seven last matches have gone the distance. Wawa is NO PUSHOVER, their previous matches have been tough ones. I cant see Nalby not having motivation to the max as a date with Shangai looms.

on the womans side, I dont like anything. Jankovic is nursing a shoulder injury. Reportedly, she was in 'obvious' discomfort in her match Vs Vesnina. Who knows with that nutcase tho.

that Gasquet/Soderling is a war!!!!!!.....flip a coin for me on that one.

you and syd both on The Thai man......fuck you guys are tempting me...

Starace has surprised everyone by wimming matches ona surface other than clay. There has been good money for him so far this morning.

The Mirnyi play is a good one as I think there will be at least one tie breaker in the match.

Very strong money for Malisse against Ginepri. Tough match that one. Malisse can be inconsistent, while Ginepri is on fire since Del Potro kicked his butt a few weeks back.

I agree with you on Gasquet, for my mind he has too much class for Soderling but I still need to see him be more consistent. People were far too quick to rate him last year based on a good 6 week period early in the year, and I want to see him perform like that, or like he did in Toronto more often. Soderling is on fire at the moment though and having a great six weeks.

And my thoughts on Srichy have been made. It wont be as easy as their fast court form would suggest, but Srichy on this surface has a bit more variety to his game than Acasuso

Good luck with your plays.

Be careful backing Starace. The match is played in russia and I don't know if you remember what happenend in Moscow a couple of weeks. Some very dodgy games were played there.

Gulbis did his best to lose it. Serving for a straights set victory in the second and choked and lost the TB. Did well to come back after that and win the decider

Yeah, I am dutch :). I saw him play once in Amersfoort. He is a very talented player and I expect alot from him. He has imo more talent then Robin Haasse (another dutch junior).

Marc has been under-rated all yr by the books. Little problems with fighter Hrbaty, very impressive. Having said that, Sebastian is serving very well this week. It's a battle of countrymen. I was going to take Grosjean btu it seems everyone and their grandmother is on Marc, so I fearfully backed off.

right on analysis of the Gonzo/Del Potro match syd,:toast: .......off to another 3rd set for warrior Gonzalez.......

Thanks for the link for the live screening.

Tough match the Gicquel/Grosjean match. Even though they have never played each other on the ATP tour, you wouldnt have thought there would be too many surprises to either players game for each other, considering their similar ages and backgrounds. Again, the class factor is with Grosjean but this has been a very disappointing year by his standards. There has been money for Gicquel, so maybe the value might be to bet against Grosjean winning 2-0.

Del Potro lacks the experience at this stage to close these bigger matches out. If he was up 3-0 then it would have been all over, and now he has put himself back under the pressure. Did either of you find a games total for this match? The places I bet at dont have them.
